Thought I would get the conversation going. Backcountry conditions are improving with the exception of the high winds....pay attention to the turbulent suspension going on. Skied on all but East aspects today. The best coverage and safest conditions were on the SW aspects.....Challenging but well covered to about 9900 feet. Hope this El No Show gets here soon. Surfs up!
Did a couple days touring in and bagging a couple smaller 9000 ft.- 10,000 ft. peaks today ....and another earlier this week ( 1-25-19 ) and found some wind slab up top that wasn't to bad , firm enough to to keep it from turning into death crust (ha)! and at lower elev. some great fluff to carve ..... Im on the north side of Mt. Humphreys - Kendrick area . did not see any thing moving at all . dug a pit and compression test was positive .... will be wondering around all over out here this season and exploring , touring and skiing ....just got out here from the sierras and finding a lot of fun stuff to drop .....
