Great Level 1 avy session this weekend!! Thanks to all who participated in the class. As you can see there is a lot of spatial variability out there and just enough snow to make it happen.....overall observations and pits revealed interesting and somewhat poor structure with lots of lemons in some of the shallower pits, moderate strength and interesting spectrum of energy in the snowpack with some propagation occurring in those shallow pits yesterday....Think snow and make good decisions out there avoiding those hazards existing....Ski ya on the hill and perhaps the backcountry once the big storm gets here?
Post snow pack observations - snowpits, avalanche activity, signs of instability.
