Seems like it's about time to get this started.

Kaptain, what's uphill access gonna be before opening day?

What a great question. I too would love to get a hike in this weekend possibly. I understand that there is a great deal of new infrastructure, but I hope snowbowl will honor the long tradition of uphill traffic. I have been a season pass holder for years and feel that there should be a way that locals can work with snowbowl to respectfully hike the mountain. Some years I find that I hike more than I ride the lift, weird huh?

I like the idea of the bulletin board in the lower lot last year and I PROMISE to check it if we can get some sweet freshy turns before the masses. Also, if this storm really manifests, any thoughts of a locals day to kick off the season?

I also would love to ski up before opening day. I would assume the gate will be locked this weekend to keep people away, but people need to get pass pictures. I need to get my picture and a skin would be what the doctor ordered. What is the word?

Didn't want to post until the snow was really flying.. and its finally here. Yay!

Can't wait to see the running storm total this morning. Forecast for the rest of the storm has dropped a bit but still looks like a very good base builder. I had heard the plan was to only have Hart Prairie and one run on Sunset open for opening day if it was man-made only, I really hope this storm get Agassiz open for opening weekend, at least partially.

Kaptain, I have a question.. when it is storming, do they turn off the snowmaking system? or does it help add more inches?

The strategy in snowmaking is to make it when conditions allow....low Temp and RH and wet bulb temps.
