Re: New Owner?

Well that makes me hopeful again. Where do I start? The list is long. Snowmaking up the ridge side, up Stump Patch to waterfall face up to Ridge side catwalk. A new lift from bottom of Northstar to the top of Tiger would be huge. And replace Hart Prairie lift. Repairs to chair 1 so it can run fully ...

FS: Patagonia Rubicon pants, mens

I snagged these off a sale rack a few years ago. Very lightly worn, one tiny scuff on the ass from getting too rowdy in the T-ride trees. Olive green (yes they look grey in the photo. Olive green, seriously). I'm thinking they're from '09. The tag says 34 but I'm here to tell ya Patagucc got their s...

Re: Obs from Temptations

Oh yeah, forgot to mention slope angle; 32*. Well of course there was a weak layer in there tRoy;) Let me explain: while I was trying to isolate the column, the top 15cm fell right out, above the highest suncrust layer. That, to me was enough to say I didn't want to ride that slope. As you can see i...

Just got back from picking up my pass at the Hart Prairie Lodge.
The road is open and decently plowed, though a bit slick. Hwy 180 is plowed and a bit slick also.
It was dumping up there.

Re: Winter Weather Observations ASB 2012-2013

Trip, Suffice to say, construction workers have been putting the finishing touches on the booster station and the pumphouse #1. The big thing has been getting APS to hook up electricity to the booster and pumphouse, which happened this week. After testing both, and starting pumphouse #1, it will tak...

Thanks for posting. Pretty much what I expected. I've been thinking of going into that area this coming weekend. Oh, and the weekend crowds weren't that much of a mess. Edit: Fair to strong winds observed morning of 2/20. Big plumes blowing from NW off of ridge between Humphreys to Agassiz on SE asp...

Oh well... I shall click on this thread no more. Nothing new has been added to the discussion and it seems as though emotions are getting fired up. Re: new trails being cut

Would the moderators please step in and delete or close this topic.

Though this has been a reasonably civil discussion, it appears as though it might get out of hand. And Kachina Peaks Avalanche Center is hardly the place to talk about Snowbowls installation of snowmaking.

Thanks.

Some other things to think about...

Right after the first storm on 10/7, my wife and I hiked the Abineau-Bear Jaw loop. There was quite a bit of snow, just not enough to ride/ski. There was generally 8"-12" and just enough to cover most of the anchors. And now with this past weekends snow my guess would be that that stuff is...

Somethings to think about...

My wife and I did a fair amount of hiking on the Peaks this fall. Back on 10/16 we hiked Weatherford trail and went a little past Doyle saddle and got a good look at the north side of Fremont. This was after the snow that fell on 10/7. I saw a good bit of snow, and that's the problem. There was gene...
